Centalion Acquires Haynesville Upstream and Midstream Natural Gas Assets from Silver Hill Energy Partners
PR Newswire
HOUSTON, Oct. 5, 2026
HOUSTON, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Centalion Group (“Centalion“), one of the world’s largest independent physical energy trading companies, has acquired a high-quality portfolio of upstream and midstream natural gas assets in Texas and Louisiana from Silver Hill Energy Partners (“Silver Hill“), a leading Texas-based private oil and gas company.
Asset Highlights
- Current net production of approximately 300 MMcfd of natural gas
- Approximately 72,000 net acres strategically located in the core of the Haynesville and Bossier development areas
- Approximately 300 gross operated development locations, which provides meaningful growth and inventory life
Silver Hill assembled most of the position through strategic acquisitions between late 2021 and mid-2023. Amid exceptional gas-market volatility, it operated up to four rigs and improved development and cost efficiencies. Production increased from under 100 MMcfd to more than 300 MMcfd, while the company retained hundreds of additional drilling locations. Expanded midstream and saltwater-disposal capacity, long-term gathering and transportation agreements, and flow assurance further supported attractive Gulf Coast trading opportunities.
“After years of disciplined growth and risk management in a fluctuating market, we are thrilled with this outcome and confident our assets will thrive under Centalion’s stewardship,” said Silver Hill Founder & CEO Kyle D. Miller. “A collaborative and commercial approach from both teams ensured an efficient process, and we look forward to seeing these assets play an increasingly important role for the Haynesville and the broader natural gas market.”
This acquisition furthers Centalion’s Gulf Coast natural gas strategy, building upon the group’s acquisition of assets in the Haynesville earlier this year. On a pro-forma basis, Centalion’s Haynesville footprint ranks as one of the largest amongst private operators and positions it as a significant market participant in the US natural gas market.
“This acquisition adds a high-quality, scalable position in the core of Haynesville, with a substantial development runway,” said Gary Pedersen, Chairman & CEO of Centalion, “Consistent with the goals of U.S. energy dominance, Centalion will deploy capital to develop U.S. natural resources, generate economic activity in communities, and bolster the domestic energy supply on which households and industries depend.”
The transaction marks the continuing success of Centalion’s partnership with Western Natural Resources (“WNR“), led by Heath Mireles. Together with WNR, Centalion intends to execute on an active development program, grow the platform in the basin, and leverage Centalion’s integrated Gulf Coast gas capabilities to create long-term value. Strategic Gulf Coast access provides exposure to multiple domestic and LNG (liquefied natural gas) demand points, and the group expects to maximize value by capturing optimization opportunities while leveraging its established marketing and trading capabilities.
Centalion was advised by Greenhill, a Mizuho affiliate, as exclusive financial advisor and Kirkland & Ellis as legal counsel. Silver Hill was advised by Jefferies as exclusive financial advisor and Willkie Farr & Gallagher as legal counsel.
